We have no idea why this image from Amazon is so small. Here it is at a better size so you can admire the lovely Pet!

I Know a Place
Petula Clark

We adore Pet, always have. But this album is special… it’s the one that truly gives you the full impact of Pet’s swinging singing coupled with Tony Hatch’s amazingly groovy arrangements.

A great album, through and through, it includes a everything from Pet’s cover of Martha & the Vandellas’ “Dancing in the Street”, to the original recording of “Call Me”, to the incredibly hip title track, to, believe it or not, Gershwin (“A Foggy Day”). And, just for the record, it was the winner of the 1965 Grammy for Best Album. Tracks includer:

Dancing In The Street
Strangers And Lovers
Everything In The Garden
The 'In' Crowd
Heart
You're The One
A Foggy Day
Every Little Bit Hurts
Call Me
Goin' Out Of My Head
I Know A Place
Jack And John
You'd Better Come Home
The Sound Of Love
Round Every Corner

Not currently in print, it might be wise to snag a copy now. The price is climbing as you read this. We promise you won't regret it.

All right. "Downtown" isn't there. But for that, get one of Pet's greatest hits albums... or better, yet get one of her foreign-language versions. Yes, Hot Rod is a slave to Pet's foreign language recordings. He'll be the first to tell you that Pet's International Collection is worth every penny (who could possibly NOT want "Downtown" in German, French AND Italian?)
