Ideal Series The Seekers Fab, swingin pop-folk classics from the first Aussie recording sensation. The original Georgy Girl LP featured the hit title track, plus a number of covers of folk-oriented tuners from their contemporaries, such as Simon and Garfunkel, The Springfields, The Beatles, Francoise Hardy, The Mamas and Papas (and even their cover of "Red Rubber Ball"). Now, a word of warning. Don't confuse The Seekers with The NEW Seekers ("I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" and "Look What They've Done To My Song, Ma"). The New Seekers was formed by Seekers' guitarist Keith Potger after the break-up of The original Seekers, and featured a much slicker and more sentimental sound... in our opinion, largely due to the absence of lead singer Judith Durham, whose background as a traditional jazz singer provided The original Seekers with its distinctive sound. This CD compilation includes all cuts from the original Georgy Girl LP (except "The Last Thing On My Mind"... why?!?!?), plus all The Seekers' biggest hits:
